This is a long-overdue post of a session I did with Erika. It was one of the most fun sessions I've ever done; it involved playing dress-up with Erika's incredible wardrobe, moving furniture around, and attempting a conceptual series with a mirror and a naked light bulb. Awesome!

I'm woefully behind on my blogging, so this portrait session was several weeks ago. I did Nayia's portraits for her new business, and was a joy to photograph and just generally a fun gal to hang out with. I love it when I want to be friends with my clients!

Portraits of my Family

As you may remember, last year I photographed my mom for her birthday. Well this summer I visited my parents in Lubbock, and I decided to get some more family portraits. I started with some portraits of my dad for the back cover of his new book (coming out in March!). Then I took a few of my grandpa for his 97th birthday. And finally, I dragged my parents out to a beautiful park at the edge of town to get some golden hour portraits of the two of them together. They've been married 30 years, and they still act like giddy newlyweds!

I also had to photograph my mom's incredible new SHOES!!! I wanted to buy them so badly, but I'll have to settle for photographing them. Sigh.

Normally I write a little paragraph about my portrait subjects in the blog post, but what can I say about my best friend, whom I've known since I was two years old?

The last two times we've gotten together, we've gone on photoshoots together. Last time I took her portrait, and this time she took mine, so we're doing joint blog posts. Check out her photos of me on her blog, and look for more of our parallel posts soon!
