Compo Beach
Last weekend, I went to a gathering hosted by of my close friends at the beach near his house in Westport, CT. We got out of the city on a very hot day and had a great time swimming, sunning, and grilling on the beach. What a perfect way to spend a summer weekend!

Noa's Bat Mitzvah | New York B'nai Mitzvah Photographer
Noa is an incredible young woman, and her Bat Mitzvah was one of the most impressive I've ever seen. She did a beautiful job, reading Torah perfectly and delivering a thoughtful and beautiful sermon. Since Noa's mother is a rabbi, she got to hold her Bat Mitzvah service in the synagogue at the Hebrew Union College campus in Manhattan. It's a gorgeous venue that lends itself very well to no-flash photography. The lunch reception was held in the HUC atrium, where Noa's friends and family celebrated her accomplishment with – what else? – eating and dancing.
Mazel Tov Noa!

Meg + Ben | New York Engagement Photographer
Meg and Ben are dear friends, so I was thrilled when they asked me to shoot their engagement photos. I have known Meg since college, and I remember not too long ago when she was sitting in my kitchen telling me all about this wonderful guy she's just met. They both went to Columbia Medical School, and believe it or not, they met while delivering a baby together! Meg and Ben share a love of literature, medicine, and the outdoors. He proposed to her on a camping trip, and they will be getting married near Meg's hometown in upstate New York next summer.
Luckily, our shoot was magical enough to suit two of my favorite people. We started out in their book-adorned Upper West Side apartment, then walked to the Hudson River to get some outdoor photos at golden hour. The light was beautiful, but even more excitingly, we found a secluded cherry tree that had just shed all its petals, creating a gorgeous pink carpet on the ground.
My wonderful friends, I'm so happy for the two of you! I can't wait for the wedding!

Erin + Seth | New York Wedding Photographer
I love wedding portraits in Central Park! There's something so magical about the lush greenery of the Park in the summer, and there are actually a lot of private places even with the summer crowds. With Erin and Seth, we went to the Belvedere Castle, the Shakespeare Garden, the Boathouse, and the Bethesda Fountain. Beautiful locations for a beautiful couple!
